Summary: Remember those two films about experimentation giving rise to horrific giant spiders? It truly feels like more than a decade since that happened. But now, a successor. A film that doesn't quite follow the same rules, but has the same spirit. And in this case, it's sort of the first film all over again, but on a much grander scale.

History: A Soviet satellite containing irradiated spiders fell to the monsters it had helped create, and the debris soon hit the Earth, right in the heart of the New York City subway. And because you probably know what happens next, we'll keep it short. One of them becomes an enormous queen, and the whole place is overtaken by a horde of car-sized spiders. The good news is that the whole place was evacuated beforehand due to the crash. The bad news is that there are still some people there, and now they have to fight to survive.

Notable Kills: They lay their eggs in people. Though at least they're dead already.

Final Fate: The queen spider makes her presence known, but in the end, she's rammed by a runaway train and thrust into the explosive pipes, blowing her and the majority of her brood up. There are some smaller spiders still remaining, but they are negligible in comparison.

Powers/Abilities: Incredibly durable carapaces that only get more resilient with age.

Weakness: Heavy artillery.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-The CGI for these low-budget crawlers is only marginally better than most stuff like it, but it's still pretty unconvincing. Still, we have ourselves some freakish arachnids. They have natural armor that can handle most gunpower, they come in droves, and their queen looks like a flat-out demon spider. Sure, the near-human face is a little cheesy, but would you like to look into that for any longer than never?

Trivia: -This film was mostly done in Bulgaria, with the crew having to figure out ways to make it look more like New York.

-Experimentation on spiders is practically nonexistent. There would be very little reason to do so, unless one was studying their silk. But we doubt that it would require turning them into monsters to see just how durable and useful the silk is, which it is, greatly in fact. Funnily enough, these spiders in the film don't use webs that often. Must be tarantula offshoots.
